SUMMARY:Bridging the Quantum Gap: Addressing Challenges in Training Indiv
iduals in Quantum Computing Using Self-Guided Learning Resources
DESCRIPTION:Stefan Seegerer and Mikio Nakahara (IQM)\n\nThe convergence of
quantum technologies and high-performance computing offers unique opportu
nities for research and algorithm development, demanding a skilled workfor
ce to harness the quantum systems' potential. In this lightning talk, we a
ddress the growing need to train experts in quantum computing and explore
the challenges in training these individuals in quantum computing, includi
ng the abstract nature of quantum theory, or the focus on specific framewo
rks. To overcome these obstacles, we propose self-guided learning resource
s that offer interactive learning experiences and practical framework-inde
pendent experimentation for different target audiences.\n\nTag: Education,
State of the Practice\n\nRegistration Category: Workshop Reg Pass\n\nSess
ion Chairs: Evguenia Alexandrova (Hartree Centre, STFC; Science and Techno
logy Facilities Council (STFC)); Scott Lathrop (University of Illinois Urb
ana-Champaign); Julie Mullen (Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT),
Lincoln Laboratory); and Nitin Sukhija (Slippery Rock University of Penns
 ylvania)\n\n
