SUMMARY:HPC Container Conformance
DESCRIPTION:Christian Kniep (QNIB Solutions)\n\nWhile containerization rev
olutionized the delivery and execution of software, it introduces new chal
lenges as the usual practice with one big software file-system with a subs
equent module load to rule all environments is not feasible with container
 s. This lighting talk introduces the 'HPC Container Conformance' Project w
hich aims to provide guidance on how to build container images and how to
annotate them so that end-users and system admins can integrate them in th
eir workflows. The talk also briefly introduces the MetaHub Registry, an O
CI compliant container registry to serve environment/hardware specific ima
ges and reduce overall complexity of herding all the container images as a
practical implementation of the HPC Container Compliance project.\n\nRegi
stration Category: Workshop Reg Pass\n\nSession Chairs: Richard Shane Cano
n (Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL)); Alberto Madonna (ETH Zür
ich, Swiss National Supercomputing Centre (CSCS)); Laurie A. Stephey (Lawr
ence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), National Energy Research Scienti
fic Computing Center (NERSC)); and Andrew Younge (Sandia National Laborato
 ries)\n\n
