SUMMARY:Visualizing the Impact of the Asian Summer Monsoon on the Composit
ion of the Upper Troposphere and Lower Stratosphere
DESCRIPTION:Matt Rehme, Ren Smith, Jun Zhang, and Shawn Honomichl (Nationa
l Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR))\n\nWe present an explanatory-tra
ck visualization which utilizes multiple open-source graphics tools, inclu
ding the C++ library OpenVDB and the 3D animation software Blender, to cre
ate a cinematic representation of simulation data generated in support of
the Asian Summer Monsoon Chemical and Climate Impact Project (ACCLIP) camp
aign. After a brief summary of the project and data simulation, the proces
s and techniques used to create the visualization are explained in detail.
